Year 2 - Week 5

This week, things start off a little differently, we missed a couple days of play, so there isn't an update from Wednesday 8th - Friday 12th but we did think it would give us an ideal oppotunity to look back right to the start when we first made thse all important goals and see if we have acheived any of those yet. So, lets zoom back in time and see what we we're aiming for back then!

Group Goal:

 - Drive enough XP to be within the top 1,000 hi-scores on the Hardcore Ironman list.

As you can see from the image, this is where we lost our last life, but we did indeed make it to sub 1,000 so we were pretty proud of that acheivement, especially with just two of us and Ros not knowing the game. We ended the Hardcore aspect of the run at #854 on the leaderboard. Ros often says she believes she knows so much more now and if she were to do it all over, she thinks she could have lasted a little longer holding on to her life, but these things happen and who can truly say what would or wouldn't have happened had Ros known then, what she knows now.

Nomadics Personal Goals:

- Green log Barrows

....we don't need to talk about it...

If you're an avid reader of the blog, you'll know the heartbreak and struggles Nomadics has faced with Barrows, he currently stands at 435 chests opened and he originally stated ''it would take roughly over 2,000 chests'' so, don't worry Nomadics, you're not as dry as you thought.

- Base 70 Stats

We're happy to see Nomadics has hit this, for some time now, and is working his way towards those 99's.

Ros Personal Goals:

- All skilling pets

Oh Ros, how nieve you we're...Ros really thought she would have had at least one pet by now, but the RNG really hasnt blessed her with a friend. Ros knew this was a ''long term'' goal, but she did really hope it would come sooner rather that later, but Ros still has such a long way to go, so those illusive pets could be just around the corner, or miles away. I guess we will just have to wait to find out.

- Lumbridge & Draynor, and Varrock Diaries

Ros has completed the Easy diary of both of these areas, and is currently working on the mediums, she hasn't yet completed any areas diaries in full, but has completed the (Spoiler Alert) Medium Ardougne Diary just this week.

That was a fun little look back, we haven't really thought much about the goals we originally set out to acheive so it was nice to be able to take that oppotunity to just see whats happened and what changed. Anyway, lets get on with the adventure shall we?

Saturday 12/04

Slayin' Slayin' Slayin'

Saturday was a day of playing catch up for Ros, and catch up she did, She started the day with Lesser Demons giving herself Attack lvl 58, and she moved swiftly on to Fire Giants where she hit Magic lvl 69. (nice)

She then went on to kill Ammonite Crabs for lvl 60 Attack, 63 Hitpoints, Combat lvl 75, lvl 59 Slayerlvl 58 Defence and finished the task giving her enough points to buy the reward ''Bigger and Badder'' from the Slayer Master which will give her the chance to spawn Superior Slayer monsters on task which have unique drops as well as other potential rewards.

That wasn't enough Bloodlust for Ros though, so she continued on her Slayer spree and went off to kill Blue Dragons, giving herself lvl 53 Prayer, lvl 59 Defence, and lvl 76 Combat. Ros then found herself running short of Runes, cruital for safespotting monsters, so she took herself off to GotR and gained lvl 65 Runecrafting.

She then decided she would complete her easy clue scroll and got herself a collection log item of a Black Helm (h1). She then yearned for the kill once more and took herself back off to the Ammonite Crabs, and got herself lvl 60 Defence, and 64 Hitpoints. She then faced a new foe, the Dagannoth giving her lvl 60 Slayer (and a total level of 1400) and Attack lvl 61. She then completed a Medium Clue Scroll receiving Pest Control teleports and a Pink Headband, which will come in useful for higher tier clue scrolls, as well as being a collection log item.

She then decided to attempt a Boss kill, Nomadics took her to Scurrius where they geared up and prepared to learn mechanics, this, as you can imagine, was not a walk in the park for Ros. Nomadics cooly and casually called out what prayer to switch to and when and how to move while Ros panicked and fumbled her way through it. She did however get a combat acheivment for the kill, but unfortunately died on the second attempt and decided enough was enough of that nonsence, and went back to Dagonnoth and got herself lvl 62 Attack and lvl 77 Combat, for a little treat.

Mr & Mrs Ironman geared up and ready to fight Scurrius.

Nomadics took on a similar approach to the day, he kicked himself off with a Hard Clue Scroll and received a Red Cavalierand Pith Helmet from the same clue, and then went off to kill Bloodveilds giving himself lvl 92 Strength putting him offically halfway to lvl 99 and the Strength cape.

After such a triumph, he then wanted more, so he tookhimself off on another task and went to kill Sulfur Naga and Gargoyles, giving him the first green cash stack of the account! (10million gold) KA-CHING! With all that money weighing down his pockets he decided to take himself off and do some Farming, he wanted to build up on Giant Seaweed so it can aid him in a Crafting grind later on.

Sunday 13/04

Wood you belive it, he's slaying again!

Nomadics kicks us off today, He started his day with a Hellhounds slayer task, which he completed but didn't manage to gain any new levels from, but did manage to get himself some Hard Clue Scrolls of which he received some Red D'Hide Chaps (g), and then he went off for a Vyres Slayer Task but once again not getting enough XP to hit a new level, it gets tough in those higher levels, those dopamine hits come fewer and further between.
He then took himself off for a few more Farm runs managing to get himself lvl 82 Farming and Birdhouse runs for lvl 76 Hunter. He finished off his day at Tears of Guthix, getting a new Personal Best of 201 tears. (Almost the same amount he sheds when he opens a Barrows chest.)

Wood you belive Ros reuses the same joke even though it was only funny to her the first time? couldn't see the wood for the trees today. She started off doing some contracts for Mahogany Homes, giving herself a run a round Gielinor and lvl 53 Construction. She then used Nomadics cannon at the Moss Giants for lvl 55 Ranged and went back to Mahogany Homes contracts for lvl 55 Construction. She then went off to Seers Village on a Forestry world where she did Woodcutting and Fletching for lvl 55 Fletching and lvl 65 Woodcutting and also managed to get herself lvl 61 Farming through Forestry events. She then finished off her day at Tears of Guthix giving herself lvl 52 Herblore.

Monday 14/04

Farming those levels

Ros went solo again today, Nomadics didnt log in for the day so there isn't any update from him, but Ros kicked herself off with a Birdhouse run, giving herself lvl 56 Hunter, and then went back to the Farming grind for lvl 62 Farming, while on her Farming runs, she used the Ectophile to teleport completing a Meduim quest in the Morytania area.

Tueday 15/04

MOAR Farming, MOAR Slaying

Ros kicked us off today by doing another tree run, She checked her tree for a Medum task in the Karamja area, and continued Farming runs to lvl 65 Farming, she also managed to get herself lvl 70 Magic from using teleports from Farm to Farm. Now Ros is at lvl 65 Farming, she unlocked a second area in the Farming Guild, she can now enter the cave to plant a Hispory seed, (which she did) and is awaiting that growth to go up against the Boss.

Nomadics continued on his Slayer grind today doing a Nechryraels task giving him lvl 87 Magic and lvl 78 Defence.

All in all not a bad week for the pair, levels gained and XP grinded. Lets take a look at the stats to see where that puts everyone!
