End of Week 11 (Day 65)
Ros feels pain
So, if you're a Runscape player, you're very likely aware of the removal of the Favour mechanic, and if you read the blog, you probably would have noticed Ros started the favour grind just yesterday...
You can probably see where this is going, huh....
Thats right folks, Ros started the favour grind THE DAY BEFORE THEY REMOVED IT, but, it gets better...Settle in, let me tell you a story.
For those who aren't aware what Favour is, there is a place on the map made up of different towns and to get the most out of that area, and ''earn their trust'' you were given tasks, Farming, Cooking, Mining, all sorts of things were involved and, not to be blunt, but everyone hated it. I mean, it wasn't THAT bad, but it also wasn't great, you know? Anyway, It came out a little while ago that this Favour mechanic was going to be removed, ''YAY'' say the community, all is good in Geilenor. There (from what I am aware) was never a timeline given on when it would happen. Now those familiar with the game will know that every Wednesday, around Midday (GMT) the servers are shut down and there's an update, this usually take around half an hour and you're even given an in game timer for when its going to happen. A few Wednesday's go by and Ros starts to think, maybe I should just do the favour, I want the Graceful re-colour and it will open some bits up for me...So she starts, and one of the tasks is to mine Volcanic Sulphur. There are toxic clouds around this sulphur, and you constantly take damage from them making it a bit of a pain, and a kind of crappy grind, regardless, if you mine that to 65% favour, go off and do a quest for 10% its pretty easy sailing the rest of the way...So, it's Wednesday, Ros is mining the sulphur and the timer for the update pops up. ''Crap'' thinks Ros, ''I wonder if I can get the 65% before the update, then I know I just have to come back on and do the quest'' Ros springs into super mining mode and knuckles down, she texts Nomadics ''YAY! I finished the sulphur mine at 65% with 3mins to spare'' Just got to wait that half an hour for the update to be done and I can go off on the quest she tells herself..
In this time, she hears there's going to be A NEW QUEST! How exciting, and it unlocks a whole new area?! NICE! Let me text Nomadics. That's when disaster struck. Nomadics responds ''So favour got removed'' WHAT!
Typical Ros luck. Wasted all that time on all that favour, and not to mention the amount of Lobsters she ate...
So, Ros started her day Mining Volcanic Sulpur <insert tears here> to 65% favour. She then completed ''The Forsaken Tower'' quest for access to Lovakenj mine carts and lvl 60 Smithing. She then completed ''Children of the Sun'' quest for access to the new area called Varlamore, once it is ready. She spoke to the Museum Clerk for lvl 48 Crafting, and went off with Nomadics to complete the ''Sheild of Arrav'' quest, choosing to be with the Black Arm Gang. She then collected lamps and Kudos from the museum and used the lamps on Herblore taking her to lvl 36. She then went on to complete the quest ''Big Chompy Bird Hunting'' for the ability to make an Ogre Bow and Ogre Arrows, as well as lvl 52 Woodcutting. After this she completed the quest ''Death to Dorgashuun'' for access to Dorgesh-Kaan, and completed the ''Depths of Dispare'' quest for a memoir page, and in doing this quest, she also managed to complete and Easy Diary Task by killing a Sand Crab. She then completed ''Fight Arena'' for Attack lvl 46, Thieving lvl 49, Combat lvl 52, and Defence lvl 35. She then completed the ''Ghosts Ahoy'' quest for an Ectophial (a teleport to Port Phasmatys) and free port entry, as well as lvl 33 Prayer. and she warpped up her day by completing ''Lost City'' for access to Zanaris.

Nomadics had a much simpler day, he kick started the day with the ''Children of the sun'' quest and the other half of the ''Sheild of Arrav'' quest, taking the Pheonix Gang side, He then Trained Strength to lvl 68 and Attack to lvl 62 to be able to enter the Warriors Guild. He managed to get himself 66 Hit Points while training too, He earned himself 500 Warrior Guild tokens and started to farm Defenders, receving a Bronze Defender and lvl 56 Defence.
With such a busy day, they managed to bump themselves almost 100 spots up the rankings too!
